RST Net has delivered a new digital substation in Lækjartún in the south of Iceland and it's the fourth digital substation RST Net installs. The new substation is ready for electrification which is planned in the coming days.

The new substation is indoors 220/132 kV - 66 kV digital substation which establishes a connection between the 220 kV transmission grid and the 66 kV regional distribution grid, strengthening the overall grid in the south coast.

RST Net designed, procured and installed all the high voltage equipment as well as control and protection equipment and DC-systems. The high voltage circuit breaker comes from ABB, just like in the substations in Hnappavellir and Skagafjörður.
